Common questions

How do I play? Blocks fall into the well one at a time. Slide them left and right, spin them, and drop them into place. Fill a whole row from side to side and it clears away. If the blocks stack up to the top, the round is over.

What are the controls? On a phone or tablet, slide, spin and drop the blocks with simple touch gestures; on a computer, use the keyboard arrow keys. The see-through “ghost” block shows exactly where your block will land, and the Hold slot lets you save one block for later.

What do I need to do in each level? Every level has a goal, shown at the top of the screen: clear a number of lines, collect all the gems, reach a score, survive a number of pieces, or dig out every block that's already in the well. Some levels give you a limited number of pieces.

What are gems, ice and bombs? A gem is collected when you clear the row it sits in. An ice block needs two clears — the first one cracks it. A bomb goes off when its row is cleared and also blasts the blocks around it.

The blocks are rising from the bottom! In some worlds a new row pushes up from the floor every few pieces. Keep your stack low and clear lines quickly.

How do I get three stars? Reaching the goal earns one star. Score more points along the way — by clearing several lines at once (four at once is a Noodle Blast!) and keeping your combos going — for two or three stars. You can replay any level to improve.

Is the level the same every time? Yes. Each level gives you the same pieces in the same order on every attempt, so you can learn it and plan ahead.

What is Marathon? An endless mode with no goal: play as long as you can while the blocks slowly speed up. Your best Marathon score has its own leaderboard and doesn't count towards Block Points.

What are Block Points? Your Block Points are your best scores from every level added together. They put you on the friendly world ranking.

Can I pause? Yes — tap the pause button any time. The game also pauses when you leave the app.

Where is my progress saved? On your device, and backed up to our server under an anonymous player ID so it isn't lost. No sign-in is needed.

Can I change my nickname? Yes — you can ask the game for a new random nickname. Nicknames are picked from a list of friendly words so everyone stays safe.

How do I delete my data? Email us your nickname and device type (iPhone/iPad, Android or web) and we'll delete your progress and scores.

Are there ads or in-app purchases? No ads, no in-app purchases and no tracking.
